Looking for some fun and easy Christmas party games for kids? Here are some awesome games for kids to play during the holiday season.

Planning a Christmas party for kids? Christmas party games for kids can be both simple and tremendously fun! If you are planning a Christmas party this holiday season and are looking for a few super fun games for kids to play then you have come to the right place. Here are four awesome games that the kids will love.

Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Contest

This is an easy Christmas party game and lots of fun for the kids. You can either buy pre-made undecorated gingerbread men at the grocery store or you can buy pre-made gingerbread cookie dough and bake the cookies at home. Have enough gingerbread men and gingerbread women cookies so each child will get at least two cookies.

Set up a table so each child has a place to sit and two undecorated cookies. Have some icing in little bowls and some Popsicle sticks so the kids can spread the icing on their cookies. Have lots of candy available so when the kids have spread the icing on their cookies they can decorate them with candy.

Some of the best candies for decorating gingerbread cookies include lifesavers, raisins, sprinkles, M&Ms and gum drops. Let the kids have fun putting icing on the cookies and then decorating them with candy.Offer a prize for the best decorated cookie, the cutest cookie, the most festive cookie, the happiest cookie and so on. Then let the kids eat their beautiful decorations or if you prefer you can have them eat one cookie and hang the other cookie on the Christmas tree.

Indoor Snowball Fight

Everyone knows that kids love a good snowball fight. Why not host an indoor snowball fight? All you need is a little creativity and plenty of white tissue paper. Give the kids three to four sheets of white or silver tissue paper and have them crumple each sheet up to look like a snowball.

Divide the kids into two groups and place a line of tape or a string on the floor. One group is on one side and the other group on the other side. Each team throws snowballs at the other team. When a kid gets “hit” with a snowball they are out of the game. The game continues until there is only one player left. The last person left is the winner of the game.

How Many Candies?

This is a simple yet seriously fun Christmas party game that kids love to play. All you need to do is get a plastic or glass jar and fill it with festive candies. Count how many candies are in the jar and then place the lid on the jar and decorate the lid with some Christmas ribbon.

As the kids arrive to the party have them guess how many candies they think are in the jar. Write down their name and guess on a piece of paper. Once everyone has arrived at the party and has taken a turn to guess how many candies there are you can announce the winner.

The winner of the game gets the jar. Be prepared for a tie by having another jar of candy ready to give away if necessary.

Pin the Hat on Santa

This is the same as pin the tail on the donkey except in this case you are pinning the hat on Santa. Buy a couple of large pieces of Bristol board and some markers at the dollar store. Draw Santa on one piece of Bristol board using the markers but don’t draw his hat.

On the other pieces of Bristol board draw one hat for every child invited to the party. Pin or tape up the Santa on the wall. When it is time to pin the hat on Santa give each child a Santa hat.

As each child steps up to play the game tie a handkerchief around his or her eyes and then turn the child around in a circle a couple of times and send him or her to pin the hat on Santa. Whichever hat is closest to Santa’s head wins!

Christmas party games for kids should be easy, fun and quick. Keep each game limited to 15-20 minutes so the party flows really well and there is always something exciting going on. This holiday season create a simple yet thoroughly entertaining Christmas party for kids with fun and games throughout the day!

These all sound really fun and hands on. I help out at an after school program in Southern California, where there is no snow for Christmas, and we just might have to have an indoor snowball fight! I would just suggest that there be an alternative if the kids don't know each other all that well - You Gotta Be Kidding by Zobmondo (http://www.zobmondo.com/products/zobmondo-you-gotta-be-kidding-crazy-game- would-you-rather-kids) has always worked as an icebreaker for new kids or to get everyone to pay attention.

Thanks for the fun ideas!
